“What’s your favourite colour, Mikaela?” I asked my granddaughter. “Blue” came the answer – but just to set the record straight, it’s now pink!
What’s my favourite flower? I can’t decide as it changes with each season! How can I choose when God has done such a fantastic job?
What’s your favourite verse or Psalm? I’ve got one – Ps 40: 1-3.
“I waited patiently for the LORD
He turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth…”
Notice that all I had to do was to wait patiently. Then see what God does. He turned, heard, lifted, set my feet on firm ground and gave me a new song! One act on my part (although often difficult) and an overflow of loving responses from God.
Isn’t that also true in other areas? We give and He blesses in abundance. We return to Him after our wanderings and He runs to us with open arms, hugs, welcomes and even throws a party!
